Michael Aftowski is an educator who has worked in the Waterbury Public School system for the past 11 years. During that time, he has distinguished himself as a teacher, coach, leader in the John F. Kennedy High School community. This past academic school year, Mike served as Social Studies Department Chair. Prior to that, Mike was chosen to fill in as Interim Vice Principal at Kennedy High School in the 2012-2013 school year. At JFK, he was head Varsity baseball coach for four years. Mike has proven to be committed to improving academic and social culture at JFK. He has been a member of numerous leadership teams such as School Leadership Team, School-wide Data Team, PBIS committee, and School Safety Committee. These experiences have made him a valuable member of the John F. Kennedy High School community.
